Common Names: Aster, Starwort 
 
Description: The Aster sp. (Aster) is a member of the Aster Family (Asteraceae). The Hortus Kewensis, ed. 2, vol. 5 listed sixty-one different species of asters from a variety of locations including North America, Asia, Europe, Africa, and Australia. Of the sixty-one species only Aster tripolium (now known as Tripolium pannonicum) was listed as native to Britain.
